The RSHE Curriculum at Nettleworth Infant and Nursery School

At Nettleworth Infant and Nursery School, we are well rounded individuals who have respect for others! We aim to give children opportunities to explore relationships, ways to keep healthy and to develop and grow as individuals. We will raise awareness of attitudes and values, develop personal and social skills and promote knowledge and understanding. The intent of our RSHE curriculum is to build healthy friendships, positive relationships in an age-appropriate way. As part of developing Cultural Capital we embed key health, wellbeing and safety messages so that our children are provided with the knowledge and skills to be physically and mentally healthy and safe in school and beyond the classroom.

Nettleworth Infant and Nursery school is a unique and wonderful school, we have identified the need to shape and drive the curriculum based on our school vision and ethos. We have developed 6 key curriculum drivers which underpin the learning and experiences we undertake in all areas of school life. These run as a thread throughout each curriculum subject to ensure our curriculum is enriched and implemented to provide appropriate and ambitious curriculum opportunities for our children to SHINE.

Our RSHE curriculum is well sequenced and progressive throughout school and is taught through a range of different themes. In order to support our children in their ability to know more and remember more there are opportunities to review the previous learning that has taken place so that we thrive.

A child leaving Nettleworth will have explicit tools to help them regulate and navigate personal, social and emotional challenges that they may face throughout their life. They will understand how to live physically and emotionally healthy lifestyles. They will be able to form and sustain a wide range of positive relationships. They will contribute and function successfully in the wider world and have aspirations for themselves and those around them. We believe that the impact of our coherent computing curriculum is that children develop a lifelong love of technology, teachers have high expectations and quality evidence is presented through floor books and pupil voice.
